Theresa has devoted her professional career to public service and civic leadership.

During her career she served in various leadership roles in Congress, the Illinois General Assembly and Chicago City Hall. She was a special assistant to Mayor Daley, Chief of Staff to the Chicago Transit Board Chairman, Chief of Staff to Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and the Vice Chancellor for Public and Government Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Theresa worked extensively with the business and foundation communities to develop a portfolio of government, public, community, corporate and media relations expertise.

Theresa is a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church where she has been an active member serving as a Meals Ministry volunteer, elder, and on multiple committees. Theresa is currently on leave from the Chicago Lights Board while serving in the Interim Executive Director role. Theresa has a BA in political science and economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and an MPA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
