Patricia M. Casas Mendez is Director of the Chicago Lights Dance Academy. She is an alum of Northeastern Illinois University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a dance minor focused on dance education. Patricia began her study of dance at a young age and became a founding member of The Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago. Her love for dance was the catalyst to focus on the art of teaching dance and has worked in the field of dance education for over 20 years, teaching and directing dance programs in the Chicagoland community at large. Patricia’s goal is to continue to provide educational opportunities to the young people of Chicago through the art of dance. In her spare time, she is involved in her church and enjoys being outdoors.
